Weather Delays & Closings

Q: How will we know if the school is closed? 
A: Closings, delays and early dismissals will be communicated directly to each parent/guardian via the ONE CALL NOW system.  In addition, notifications are also posted on WBOC.  LCS does not follow the Indian River School District schedule.  Please DO NOT call the school office in the event of a closing or delay. Refer to one of the methods listed above.


Q: When is my child's tuition due?
A: Payments are due on the 1st of each month.  The registration fee is due at the time of registration.  A curriculum fee is due by August 1st.

Q: Is there a discount for Multi families?
A: Yes, multi family discounts will be given to students in K-8th.

Q: What Curriculum does your school use?
A: We use Abeka for Reading, Phonics, Handwriting, and Math; Bob Jones for Reading, Language Arts, History, and Spelling; Foss (Full Option Science System); Delta Science Modules for Science; and Positive Action for Bible.

After School Care

Q: Do you provide after school care?
A: Yes, LCS offers after school care as well on a as needed basis.  Please contact the school office for more details.  There is also the Dagsboro Boys & Girls Club, located next to Lighthouse Christian School. You may contact the Boys & Girls Club by calling 302.732.6636.

Dress Code

Q: What is the school dress code?
A: Please refer to the school handbook for dress code specifics. Or call the school office for more info at 732-3309.


Q: Do you provide hot lunches?

A: Yes, hot lunches are available for purchase Tuesday-Friday.  A hot lunch is not available for purchase on Monday. Please make sure your student comes prepared with a lunch from home.  For a list of lunch items available for purchase, please contact the school at 302.732.3309.

Q: Can I send something in their lunch that needs to be heated up?
A: No, we cannot heat your child's food up.

Car Pools

Q: Do you have a contact list of people interested in car pooling?
A: No. Car-pooling is coordinated by the parents.

Q: Does your school provide transportation? 

A: The school offers no bus or van transportation. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of car pooling. Of course, details such as pick-up/drop-off times, adequacy of another's automobile, insurance coverage, etc are your responsibility, and should be discussed thoroughly with those parents whom you wish to become involved.

Health Policies

Q: How soon after my child is sick can she return to school?
A: Your child must be free of a fever for at least 24 hours before returning.

Q: Do you administer prescriptions or medications if we send one in with our child?
A: No, we are not able to give your child any prescriptions or medications while they are at school.

Q: What are your health policies?
A: Do not send your child if they have a fever of 100 degrees or higher.  Do not send your child if they have a contagious illness and have not been on antibiotics for at least 24 hours. If your child becomes ill during the day the school will contact you.
